About The Event

Welcome to the Cabaret Laboratory, where we explore and expand our understanding and presentation of performance through a cabaret lens.

Our Summer Bootcamp sessions include:

You're Gonna Love Me (Stage Presence Foundations)

Sunday August 14 from 3:00 to 5:00PM at Evergreen Spaces This bootcamp class with Ivy La Fleur will tackle stage presence and audience connection. Elevate your stage performance through learning exercises and techniques that tap into your inner power.

A Introduction to Burlesque History through Movement

Saturday August 20 from 3:00 to 5:00PM at Evergreen Spaces

This bootcamp class will introduce the legends of burlesque through movement. We'll learn basic burlesque choreography staples together and combine them into mini routines.

Roving and Longform Fundamentals

Sunday August 21 from 3:00 to 5:00PM at Evergreen Spaces

This bootcamp class with Bitch Sassidy and Karla Marx will focus on transforming stage performance to roving performance and audience play as well as how to transform a 3 minute act into a 10 minute act.

Stage Make-Up with Karla Marx

Tuesday August 23 from 6:00 to 8:30PM at CSpace 1721 29 Ave SW This 2.5 hour bootcamp class with Karla Marx will cover make-up for the stage. Is the only difference from your “night-out” face and “stage-face” a false eyelash? Learn how to contour for stage lighting, tips and tricks for products and application, and how to invest in your makeup at the same way you do for your costume or movement.

This is to protect the other attendees and the instructor from falling ill themselves.
