Featuring professional comedy acts with TV quality stand-up comedy material and an enforced code of conduct against hate-speech, this femme-centred and femme-curated this show is edgy yet affirming, shocking but not scarring. Laugh Loft brings the fresh fun feel of a hip LA Alternative comedy show right to the heart of Inglewood in The Attic

This show is curated by Calgary legend Victoria Banner and drag queen Karla Marx.

Victoria Banner has been a stand-up comedian for 10 years with an extensive resume of curating exclusive, notably different comedy shows. Victoria has a passion for the rules and rhythms of traditional club style stand-up comedy and a continual commitment to workshopping new material at home and on the road. Her comedy has been featured at Femmewave, Tall Tree Music Festival and at comedy clubs across the country.

Karla Marx is a comedian, host, burlesque performer, and drag queen focused on creating fun, innovative, inclusive events in Calgary. With the eye of the tiger and the mouth of a teamster, Karla has been producing shows with Cabaret Calgary for 4 years and is excited to continue to work more in stand up comedy.

The laugh loft is located in Inglewood’s The Attic above Vegan Street (Formerly Salt and Pepper) which is a delightfully atmospheric restaurant and stage with some of Inglewood’s hottest programming. Laugh Loft is a feel good date night, with the approachability of a local comedy show and the excellence of a downtown event.

We feature cutting edge alternative comics who are not frequently seen touting longform stand-up sets in YYC. We combine talent and equity using our vast networks and total immersion in the western Canada performing arts scene. We intend to cultivate an atmosphere to help support Queer/Femme/BIPOC comics tape festival submissions, record albums and write longer form jokes to allow them the tools to fast track access to the national comedy industry.
